19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is his maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.

Victory also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.

His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first tour victory, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
