Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then found many other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state preliminary tests suggest the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials stated they were trying "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the public for details.
An important official commented the vandalism left him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he wrote on social media, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
